Healthwatch Rochdale publishes findings and recommendations after Enter and View visit at The Riverside Nursing Home

Healthwatch Rochdale has today published a report containing findings and recommendations from an Enter and View Visit that took place at The Riverside Nursing Home, 9 Church Street, Littleborough, Rochdale, OL15 8DA.

The visit was based on eight care quality indicators developed by Independent Age. Areas of improvement were identified on four of the indicators, resulting in four recommendations being made to help improve the patient experience.

Recommendations for improvement were made in areas of staffing, mealtimes and smoking areas as well as incorporating plants and a memory garden into the outdoor area to help stimulate the senses and spark reminiscence in dementia patients.

There was some really good care observed at The Riverside Nursing Home by representatives on the Enter and View visit. However, it is always our aim to drive up standards in the quality of care and so we have made four recommendations for improvement to the service

Kate Jones, Healthwatch Rochdale Chief Executive Officer

The provider was sent a copy of the report before publication but made no comment on the recommendations.
