Are you passionate about improving and developing local maternity care for women and their families?
This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference for women and families in Rochdale and Oldham. The MVP is a local partnership of maternity service users and their advocates, and maternity professionals who come together in order to make maternity services as good as they can be. MVPs are particularly keen to ensure that all service users’ voices are listened to.
The Chair is an important role in ensuring that the voice of maternity service users is heard in discussions with providers and commissioners of services. The successful candidate will be a point of contact for service users and will ensure that their views are heard. They will Chair the MVP meeting and any sub-meetings and will lead a range of service user engagement activities across Rochdale and Oldham.
The Chair will work closely with maternity service, Clinical Commissioning Groups and other partners including other MVP Chairs within the surrounding areas. They will also attend the Local Maternity System Board meeting and other meetings to ensure that the voice of Rochdale and Oldham’s service users is heard.
The role requires good communication and engagement skills, and an ability to represent the views of service users in the Rochdale and Oldham boroughs. The successful candidate will have had experience of using local maternity services from within the last three years and demonstrate an enthusiasm for continuous improvement in maternity care.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed where necessary and involvement payment will be made via Healthwatch Rochdale to the Chairs in line with NHS England’s, Public and Patient Voice Partners Policy.
Please note: May affect entitlement to state benefits and is subject to income tax and national insurance.
