Healthwatch Rochdale publishes findings and recommendations after Enter and View visit at Carders Court Care Home

Healthwatch Rochdale has today published a report containing findings and recommendations from an Enter and View Visit that took place at Carders Court Care Home, 23 Ivor Street, Castleton, Rochdale, OL11 3JA.

he visit was based on eight care quality indicators with the home scoring well on six of the indicators but areas for improvement were identified on four.

Based on the indicators, findings evidenced a good knowledge of each individual resident and how their needs may be changing, a choice and flexibility around food and mealtimes, accommodation of a residents' personal, cultural and lifestyle needs as well as being an open environment where feedback is encouraged.

Areas for improvement included, identifying reasons for high manager turnover, for management and staff members to be aware of current preventative dental schemes in the Rochdale borough, to ensure the same amount of activities are available across all units and to ensure a clear communication pathway from management to staff members.

The Enter and View visit at Carders Court was the first visit on this year's programme of Enter and View visits. it was really encouraging to see the findings are largely positive with only four recommendations for improvement. We would like to ask family members and residents of any care home to speak with us about their experiences to help aid in our visits
