Read about our Enter and View visit at Rochdale Infirmary Urgent Treatment Centre.

We have carried out our second Enter and View visit of 2023 at Rochdale Infirmary with this visit focusing on The Urgent Treatment Centre.

A report with our findings and recommendations has been published today and includes a response and action plan from the provider.

This is the second Enter and View visit we have carried out since the Covid 19 pandemic with both visits taking place at Rochdale Infirmary.

We found that The Urgent Treatment Centre provides a valuable resource to the local community with many areas of the service working well for patients.

Following the visit three recommendations for improvement were made which included:

  1. Having Information and/or signage available in other languages.
  2. Fixed play equipment in the children’s waiting area.
  3. A notice to be displayed in the entrance notifying the location of wheelchairs.

An action plan for all recommendations has been received and is available to read in the report.

We are so pleased how well Rochdale Infirmary have worked in partnership with us to hear and use local people’s views, opinions, and experience to shape service. The aim of our Enter and View visits is to be able to go into a service and really see and experience how that service is working for patients. Sometimes it’s the little things that can make all the difference and Enter and View is another tool that can be used to help enhance the patient experience.
