Healthwatch Rochdale Update to services- Covid-19 - Tuesday 17th March Update

Healthwatch Rochdale, with immediate effect will no longer be attending statutory meetings.

All face to face engagement has been placed on hold until May 2020. Our work programme for 19/20 is currently being finalised however all reports will not be shared with commissioners or providers until the Covid-19 outbreak is under control, we do not want to add pressures onto the health and social care system during these difficult times.  Healthwatch Rochdale’s phone lines are still open to support Rochdale residents with information, advise and signposting services.

In light of the current situation Healthwatch has a key role when it comes to providing information for the public. We will be fully supporting the Government’s public information campaign and prioritise this activity through our communication channels to raise awareness of how to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infection, what symptoms to look for, and what to do if someone becomes unwell.

What our role will be as a statutory organisation?

Take phone calls from Rochdale residents providing information and advice as requested – 01706 249 575

We will provide up to date information and advice on the outbreak

We will update our website with information the general public need to support them during the outbreak

We will share information and advise on ‘Social Distancing’  to help people protect themselves

We will support local providers and commissioners to pass information out to the public, specifically seldom heard groups of the borough

We work with Action Together to ensure we are sharing a consistent message across the Rochdale borough

The delivery of service provided by Healthwatch Rochdale will be reviewed regularly and updated in line with the national guidance on Coronavirus (COVOID - 19).
